Unique, interesting, unusual, crazy – we overheard these adjectives at artist Alka Mathur’s exhibition, Infusions-Tea Bags Unlimited, in the city recently. It was inaugurated by Rajeev Shukla. The work was a culmination of her travels and accounts of her journey through various places via tea bags and tea stains. “I have been collecting tea bags since 2006.
I thought, why don’t I do something around tea, because everyone can associate with it. So, I travelled, collected tea from different places, came back with stories, started writing a daily diary and complied all this together to create this,” she said.
“I have been to many art exhibitions, but I found this one really interesting. It is different and unusual,” said Azza Said Al-Maani, wife of the ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman.
Raoudha Laouani Azouz, wife of the ambassador of Tunisia, is relatively new to the city, but is enjoying the art and culture of Delhi.
“We shifted here just three months back, but I am looking forward to enjoying and exploring the city. I had always heard a lot about India and finally I am here,” she said.
